Favourite Flashback

[Bad Touch Yakushi]

This doesn't even have to be a character's backstory, this can be a flashback to literally anything, a Sasuke/Naruto moment as kids or a scene like Deidara joining the Akatsuki.

My absolute favourite is Mifune VS Hanzo when they were both young, just because it shows both characters to be absolute badasses and Hanzo even once fought with honour

When the samurai hear Hanzo the Salamander's name they all run off in fear except for Mifune who stands bravely and takes him on, we never see the actual fight but Hanzo cut his head and poisoned him, leaving him to die. They speak about conviction and Hanzo tells Mifune he will die a hero and with his death spread stories of the brave Mifune but even then Mifune asks of him to spare his comrades, the cowards who left him. Hanzo, impressed by his solid conviction gives him the antidote and walks off, hoping he survives.

It made Hanzo my second favourite character and is just a fantastic scene in general, I don't even mind that we didn't get a proper fight between them- this was good enough to replace it.

It's in the manga. Where Shisui and Itachi speak for the last time, most definitely. It's very morose and emotional, yet very intimate and displays the friendship and trust between them better than a full arc ever could. I find it as the epitome of their relationship. Utterly touching.
