So, who is your favourite female character? I can safely say mine is:

Cal Devens from Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom

She has to be the most badass female character in any show I've seen so far. She starts out as a naive girl completely reliant of Azuma Reiji, and he teaches her how to kill. However, when he is mistaken for dead, she is taken under the wing of Scythe, and trained to become the next phantom, 'Drei'. She kills purely because she thinks it is fun, even turning it into a game of sorts. Whilst she is misguided, she knows who she is and how strong she is, and essentially only wants to be killed by someone stronger than her.

Following behind would have to be Senjougahara from Bakemonogatari, and Aika from Zetsuen no Tempest.

Even though she'd probably just cuss me out, I gotta go with Revy from Black Lagoon

I found Cal quite irritating in the last episodes, but my favorite female is also from Requiem for the Phantom, and it's Eren.

Unlike Cal, she didn't fight to ''show off'' her skills, she had to kill people in order to live.

My favorite female character would definitely have to be Rin Tohsaka.

Rin Tohsaka is, for me, the most awesome female character out there for a number of reasons. For starters, she's just plain badass. Sure, she doesn't have the insane epic powers of Fate's Servants and couldn't possibly match them on her own strengthwise, but she's far from useless. She's a very intelligent character who's good at planning and also very skilled with magic, proving her worth countless times throughout the series.

She also has to deal with a lot of trouble. She's no Lelouch, and her struggles may seem pretty minimal compared to other characters of Fate, but even her life isn't quite so pretty. Both of her parents are dead, for pretty tragic reasons actually, and she's forced to train herself as a magus over anything else. It was really quite sad for me to think about how her father left to fight in the Holy Grail War only for her to never see him again and be left all alone with a devastated family, still forced to follow her family's obligations as a magus over anything else and to work really hard to make her family proud. From there, she's thrown into a whirlwind of deadly situations and while she ultimately ends up better off than quite a few other characters throughout the story, she definitely has a lot of close calls. It's no easy feat to protect yourself in a survival game, especially when your enemies are Heroic Spirits of the past with insane powers that could easily kill a regular human with no trouble.

More than anything though is that I find that Tohsaka's a really nice person. She's a tsundere and she can certainly come off as cold and harsh on occasion, but that's really just on the surface. In reality Tohsaka's easily one of the nicest characters I've seen in Fate, who always cares about those close to her and risks herself so many times that I have to respect her for it. For starters, she uses up an important magical jewel from her father for the sake of saving the protagonist (who received a fatal wound) because she felt that she was to blame for what happened and also helps him in a number of other ways later when she could have simply abandoned him out of convenience. Tohsaka proves to be a really caring individual, even in the scenarios where she's not the protagonist's love interest.
