Reasons:

- Immaculate and impeccable back story with master characterization.
- Had true motives for his "villainy" rather than misconstrued opinions on the state of the world (Madara...)
- Clever physical character design.
- Shines a lot of potential over the Uzumaki's overall potential and what they're capable of.
- He has the Rin'negan, which is my favorite power in the entire manga.
