It was initially funny(at least to me) when the manga surrounding Obito's reveal only gave us "Because you let Rin die" as an explanation for all the wrongdoings of the entire series, which escalated in that meme being created.

Meh. People who hold on to that line, really don't understand Obito's character, and chose to simplify him because it's easier for them, and they don't like him.

Obito is a great character. Who had his fair share of improving the plot a lot and keeping it engaging and interesting ever since his Tobi serious personality kicked in, provided a good sense of mystery and suspense, and nice expositions on a lot of relevant information about the Naruto world.
