It's also society's job, and school is part of society. If it were a parent's job only, then children would always be exactly like their parents, which is untrue. And, it's bigoted to say someone who's bigoted is bigoted.

It has never been society's job to raise children. Ignorant thinking right there.

Wait, grade school - how old are the students then? Sorry, I don't use that term where I live so I'm always confused when I see it.

And scientifically proven to be normal ... Are you talking about homosexuality? Because science has proven it isn't illness and it is normal. It's an orientation like being straight is. Don't see why being straight should be considered the only normal norm and the rest not. I mean there have been gay people since at least the time of the ancient Rome and Greece.

These students are from the ages of 6-11 and nothing has been proven stating it's normal. For example, according to "science" if you have 1 boy he is 100% straight, the 2nd one is 66% likely to be straight, the 3rd is 33% and the 4th is 0% yet I am a 4th and not homosexual. Scientifically speaking if they discovered a gay gene it would make the news for quite some time. Whether or not it's normal is not for me to say, however to say it is normal like everyone does is fallacy.

Oh so that's grade school - thanks for explaining.
They already proved it's not an illness which is at least an improvement. I never heard of that research you're talking about though - who did that research? That's not even logical *shakes head*
Anyway, I don't see why it would be considered abnormal *shrugs* It's an orientation like the others *shrugs*

Social sciences should concentrate on the people and events who have, in course of they life, done something important pertaining the topic that that particular science researches. In that sense, from the point of History for example, LBGT people should be mentioned in that context only if they've done something historically relevant for the LBGT population in general.
