Fate Stay / Fate Zero VS (I don't get it)

Just finished Fate/Stay: Unlimited Blade Works which means i've finished the Fate series until the movie comes out! My question is...I was told by a LOT of people to start with Blade Works and then treat Fate Zero as a gigantic series-long flashback.....why?

The majority of the audience seem to think that the viewing order MUST BE: Fate/Stay: UBW & then Zero but I cannot see a single reason why the story should be told this way round.

• Fate Zero does a MUCH better job establishing the Holy Grail War. UBW struggles through it's explanation of it very obscurely and UBW is a story that breaks a LOT of rules of this world before even teaching you most of them. Very hard to keep up with if you haven't seen the expositionfest which is Fate Zero's first few eps.
  
• Chronological order makes complex stories that play with time easier to digest.
  
• Half of the servants in UBW do not do what their class actually denotes. (Rider/Archer/Assassin/Gilgamesh etc.) This can be super confusing when tryna learn the rules of this world.
  
• Spoils many plotpoints and the ending to Fate Zero.
  
• UBW has a MUCH grander finale than Fate Zero in scale, viewing Zero last will feel like a step down in stakes.
  
• Moments such as Waver's speech & Rin finding out who killed her father actually MEAN something if you've seen the previous series.
  
• Shirou's character arc is literally a copy/paste of Kiritsugu's but a version that surpasses it. If you saw Shirou's struggle with idealism first then Kiritsugu's themes are going to be boring & lacking.

I'm open to a different POV but...it just confuses me how people think that's how you're meant to watch it. Please get back to me, i'm reeling from that finale haha, anyway they're both good series. Zero gets a 6/10 and UBW gets a 7.5/10

Personally I watched Fate Zero before UBW. I even enjoyed Fate Zero more but I still have to finish season 1 of UBW first. Kiritsugu to me was more interesting than Shirou. This series has too many routes >.> For me Fate Zero was a solid 9/10 and UBW was a 8/10.

As this thread suggests, don't listen to the majority who'll tell you to start with the second generation. It makes things WAY more complicated. And you think this is hard to follow you should try getting into Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and Evangelion the way I am haha, that's torture.

With Fate series it is quite literally just 2 seperate series- both based off of a Visual Novel. So that's quite simple when you put it that way. Ignore the original Fate/Stay Night's existence and treat the 2015 series as the official 2nd season. Because now it is.

Because you get to know that sakura and rin are real blood sisters but then she has given up to the matoi family. Then she's placed in a place where she's be getting rape left and right (worms!).

It's being made as a movie because HF is too dark for it to be released in the TV. It contains a lot of +18 stuff and if wanted to release it on TV, it would have cut the good parts and that's not a good way. It will be probably worst than terraformars and tokyo ghoul censoring combined multiplied by 1000x.

I literally watch fate zero first to get better understanding within the context of UBW. I was quite disappointed that kirie was killed off too quickly in UBW hopefully HF will do alot better

but yeah the existence of Heaven as a storyline shouldn't spoil anything from an anime perspective. It's a lil messy as they all are. But if you had no clue of the VN's existence then Fate Stay Night would've messed me up as a first time viewer. It does almost nothing for new viewers.
