I'm mostly in the kabuto camp on who the feet belong to but Karin should recognize his chakra right? My stupid theory is uchiha shisui. Episode 298 makes me think it's plausible that he is indeed still alive. Itachi states that the last time he saw shisui was when he gave itachi his eye and then shisui disappeared.
