Her touch!
‘I am so going to get nee chan back for this’ Kiba thought to himself while wearing a gloomy look as he walked down the streets of Konoha carrying a bouquet of flowers.
His elder sister Hana had dognapped Akamaru and demanded that Kiba buy a specific bouquet of flowers for her as ransom. He had asked her why she could not just go and get the flowers by herself and her reply was along the lines of ‘not wanting to tarnish her reputation’ or something. He couldn't really remember as the rage of that moment didn’t allow him to concentrate on what she was saying.
“She shouldn't be the one giving him flowers” Kiba sighed to himself as he picked up his pace. He was always with his canine friend and its absence was really getting to him. “The faster I get back home the sooner I can be with Akamaru again” he yelled. He then proceeded to leap onto the buildings before he caught sight of a tattered Naruto walking down the street.
“Oi Naruto” he yelled as he caught up to him.
“Kiba...” Naruto responded before pausing to look at the bouquet in his hands, a questioning look on his face.
“No no it’s not what it looks like” Kiba quickly answered. “By the way what happened with you? It looks like Sakura beat you up, threw you to the hokage tower and had lady Tsunade beat you up some more” he finished.
“I was training with Lee” Naruto grinned in reply “Just taijutsu. No Kagebunshin or Sage mode. Lee is brutal” Naruto laughed.
Kiba sweat dropped. It sounded like Naruto had enjoyed getting beat up. “You are weird. You know that right?”
“I know. I know. Any ways, I am off to the hot springs to soak up. I haven’t hurt this much in a while dattebayo!”
Kiba nodded sympathetically. He knew what Lee could do with taijutsu. He had sparred with him once and gotten so beat up. If it hadn't been for Hinata’s medical oin………’Whoa! Hold up’ he mentally interrupted himself as he remembered the girl who is like a little sister to him. An evil grin lit up his face as he taught again….’Ohh she’s going to thank me for this’
“I know how you feel Naruto…I sparred with Lee once and do you know what made me feel better? Hinata”
“Hina-ta?” Naruto stuttered a bit remembering his last memory of her at the creek laughing.
“Yeah, Hinata‘s medical cream to be precise. That stuff definitely works way better than just soaking yourself and it has a nice smell too unlike the crap they give at the hospital.”
“Ehhhhh that’s true it really works” Naruto said while recollecting the memory of the chuunin exam where she had given him one. “Know where I can find her?”
“Just follow me” Kiba replied.
“Take care you two. I’ll be back soon”
“Hai Sensei” Hinata replied as she and little Tami Yuuhi waved. Kurenai was off to do a little shopping and Hinata had volunteered to watch after little Tami. Although she was a Jounin now, she still regarded Kurenai as her captain and was a frequent visitor at her home. She set little Tami down and watched her closely as she played with her toys.
Hinata giggled to herself as she noticed the bug in Tami’s hair. Shino had insisted on placing a bug on her to track her in case of any “unforeseen events” Everyone loved little Tami and especially the members of team 8 and team 10. Ino brings her flowers, Chouji brings treats, Kiba sometimes puts her on Akamaru so she can ride and Shikamaru brings puzzle pieces. “Kurenai sensei doesn’t have trouble searching for a babysitter for you now, does she?” She smiled as she watched Tami with total concentration in her red eyes smash the puzzle pieces with her toy hammer.
She looked at her red eyes and thought again; ‘She got her mum’s eyes. I wonder if mine will get my eyes….or maybe blue ones’ she blushed as she realized the implication of what she was thinking. ‘N-naruto-kun’ her blush deepened as she nervously pressed her fingers together. She then let out an ‘eep’ sound as the noise of three loud successive knocks on the door startled her.
“Kiba-kun” she yelled not surprised at him being the perpetrator.
“Hi Hinata” Kiba paused having noticed a slight blush on her cheeks. “What’s with the blush?” Kiba teased.
“Huh? Sick again Hinata?” Naruto suddenly spoke up from behind Kiba.
“Na-Naruto-kun” She gasped looking to Kiba for some sort of explanation.
Kiba shook his head at Naruto and proceeded to answer Hinata’s questioning look. “Naruto just sparred with Lee in a taijutsu only matchup” he started stressing on taijutsu. “Got any of your medical cream on you?
“Hai…I’ll go get it” she replied as she gestured for them to come in.
“Great! Sorry I can’t stay, Hinata. I have to run. Gotta get this flowers back to nee chan” he then smirked before looking directly at her and winking. “Have fun!”
“Wait! K-Kiba kun!” she yelled. She was too late though as he had already dashed out and suddenly she was technically almost alone with Naruto who was playing with Tami. She swallowed nervously then gasped when she turned around only to meet Naruto’s face.
“Ehhh I had no idea Kiba was in a hurry” Naruto said looking confused.
Face heating up and looking away, Hinata replied “Hai, h-he’s hasty like t-that s-sometimes”
Naruto frowned. She was doing it again. She looked uncomfortable and she wasn't looking at him. After that day at the creek, he had concluded Hinata looked better while she was smiling and it seemed just the fact that he was breathing made her uncomfortable. It was beginning to hurt because she was one of his precious people.
“Here you go Naruto-kun” Hinata offered. She had retrieved it from the ninja pack she always carried around with her.
“Tsank you” Naruto smiled at her. “I remember this stuff from before. Well I better get going now”
“N-No!” Hinata yelled. She had just placed little Tami into her cradle when Naruto noted that he was about to take his leave. She was practically alone with Naruto and just wanted to spend more time with him and so she had yelled ‘no’
“Y-you seem t-to h-have injuries on y-your b-back, I can h-help y-you apply i-it t-there” she stuttered.
“Really” Naruto asked looking confused “You know I can just use my kagebunshin to...”
“Please Naruto-kun. I want to help you” She implored now looking directly at him causing Naruto to get nervous.
“Ah s-sure, If you really want to” Moments later, Naruto was naked from his waist side up while Hinata stood behind him, a jar in one hand and ointment in the other. Naruto shivered as she applied the cold ointment to the bruises on his back and shoulders. “Lee really handed it to me didn't he?” Naruto asked in a muffled voice causing Hinata to giggle out a “yes” reply.
‘Close enough’ Naruto thought to himself comparing the giggle to the laughter of hers at the creek. He reached for his shirt assuming she was done when he heard her set the jar on the table but stiffened in surprise when he felt warm hands apply gentle pressure to his shoulders. “Eh?”
“F-for the b-best results, the o-ointment needs t-to b-be ma-mas-massaged into the muscle as i-it speeds up t-the healing process” she interrupted as her entire face had turned tomato red and was glad Naruto had his back turned to her.
“Oh I didn't know that” he replied as he closed his eyes and relaxed under her touch. Hinata was rubbing his back and massaging his neck and shoulders. Her hands were soft and warm as they worked his sore muscles. Her touch was like magic and his pain was actually at the point of vanishing.
Hinata looked over her shoulders and noticed Tami was asleep now but the ‘hm’ sound Naruto made shifted her focus back to him. She blushed deeply as she continued kneading her hands into his muscles. “N-naruto-kun is e-enjoying this?” she mentally asked herself.
Naruto felt like he was in heaven. This was just too good. He opened his eyes and realized he had them closed in euphoria for like half an hour. He tensed and realized they had also not said anything to each other in that half hour and thought “Oh no! Now she must think I am weird” He got to his feet quickly. “Thanks Hinata...I f-feel a l-lot better!” he semi stuttered.
Hinata had enjoyed making Naruto feel good but she felt Naruto tense a bit before hurriedly standing up. “He must think I am weird” she moped before answering a lowly “Hai”
“As I thought, she feels sick that I just stayed there like that” he thought. “I’ll be going now” he said a hint of sadness in his voice.
Hinata had come this far and now it seemed this day was going to end on a sad note. She was determined to not let it end this way and mustered up all her courage. “N-naruto kun” she called, her voice slightly thinning out when she reached the suffix.
“Yes Hinata?” Naruto answered.
“I-if you e-ever need help w-with applying t-the o-ointment again, I-I would be h-happy to h-help y-you” she stuttered before looking up to smile at him.
“Really Hinata” Naruto asked, joy evident in his voice but secretly scanning her face to look for any signs of her trying to just be polite.
“Hai” Hinata smiled back at him again erasing any doubts from Naruto’s mind.
“Thanks Hinata. I’ll definitely take you up on that. Say bye to little Tami for me when she wakes up” Naruto smiled before walking out the door leaving the shy Hyuuga blushing and smiling.
As Naruto stepped out, he felt a chill envelop his body as the warmth his body had gathered from Hinata’s touch began to dissipate. But better still, his heart felt light. He was happy. “Is it because of Hinata” he asked himself. “I think I need to spend more time with her” he smiled to himself as he walked home.
