Lol, it's just like with mainstream media. It's now using such things to attract plebs into watching them. It's all about the cash and not about the quality. Because a show being of high quality doesn't mean that it will be considered attractive. Companies care about what brings in the dough and honestly, its fanservice. I noticed how more users started visiting my profile when I had the Saeko theme going on. I had more VMs and reps when I had apron Saeko sigs. Lel

That's just a small example of what's going on right now. That's why the media is focusing more on fanservice in animes. To attract more people like the little example I placed up.

Fiction builds a reality. And the viewer becomes a part of it when s/he experiences through.

To be more appearant; same things happen with games. The first person becomes you and you act accordingly. Self insertation in extreme level. Same goes for fiction, you place yourself in storyline. Thinking what would it be like to be a part of a fictional universe you like is a nice way of dreaming.

Since people become a part of those universes producers play on the parts that are most supressed urges of humans (violence and ***). In Free anime there are bunch of fanservice and homosexual relations that might be very well headcanoned. Sports manga were originally made for male readers (like most shounen) but industry seen the given attention to sports manga/anime like KnB by yaoi fangirls. That anime is just another example.

It is the age of singularity. Everybody have supposedely friends which are nothing but links with pics on screen. I have never measured quality of friendships by how many one has, but quality is severly declining too. I met my highschool friends today and felt happy and grateful, reading this thread i realized people who have born 5/10 years later than me may not even experience such thing. People deal with their feelings through machines or images, fanservice makes a potential romance unnecessary because they present romance as something fully sexual and pass of their cartoon perfections as filling materials for these desires.

Don't know much about fanservices in anime since I mostly watch action anime's like Naruto, OP, AoT, FT etc, these usually have little to no fan service

I'm one of those people who hates fan service, too much really tends to annoy me, the worst I came across was High school of the dead and damn that anime is the worst I have seen so far couldn't go past episode two :|

Its funny because anime's with lots of fanservices are never as popular as anime's which hardly provides it (e.g. comparing HOTD to Naruto) :coffee:

It would be bad if this trend takes over all of anime genres your favourite anime starts doing it or after 10 years you search for animes and you only find this kind of shit and it becomes something plotless like porn shows.
I find anime shows as mature and deep get right in the feels because I usually search for such animes or anime movies between all those weird shit out there which I dnt care unless I am in fap mood. People search for what they like and what they want to see.

Two reasons.
1. An increase in female viewers, one of my favorite series Jojo had to change their male character designs in part 4 and onwards to look bishounen and less rough. They did this so they could appeal to a female audience, instead of keeping the manly characters that were full of muscle and signified strength aswell as depth. Notice how that degenerated from character designs to your average anime male character in today's shows being a shy awkward kid that is constantly finding reasons to be emotional, dramatic and depressed. That's because most male kids these days relate to that disempowered character but not all series have become like this, thankfully we still have great series like Toriko where you could enjoy all the things you did in the 90's.

2. The scarcity of real *** which creates a need that must be fulfilled through other outlets, notice how the most sexually repressed countries have the weirdest porn like Japan and Germany. When you have a society where there is scarcity of real *** people are going to find ways to relieve themselves, this results in an over-sexualized society where people fool themselves into thinking there is too much *** but don't realize their hunger is what created this in the first place. There is a reason Japan has the lowest birthrates, when you have young teenagers who are watching hentai, ecchi and the other weird shit. The corporations doesn't care, it's more money to them so they will continue to pump out more sexualized anime, *** robots and whatever other stuff they think about for consumers to indulge in, they're getting rewarded for self-destructive behavior and this leads to a generation of misguided kids that produce a whole other problem.

The world works on demand and supply. The blame has to be shifted to the audience first, as they are the ones in need of fan service. To be very honest, I absolutely overt display of violence or sexuality. It has to be balanced to create a decent plot. But look at the current media; *** is being used to ginormous proportions to sell just about everything and it's sickening.

I will put the blame on pornography industry, especially the people who are obsessed with it. These days, prostitution and real life rape have found itself within its domains. That is how diverse it has truly become and it's not even a compliment. Since the media has to remain family friendly - I see an irony in this - they achieve similar results but introducing soft core pornography within songs, movies, games etc. It sells, because that is what people demand.

Gone are the days when classic erotics was classy first, and erotic later. Gone are the passionate tales of romance. Why have people become so damn cheap? I am glad I stopped watching anime a year or two ago. I cannot seem to get into the garbage they are churning out these days. Video Games are the sole left creative front. I wonder when they will fall to fan-service as well ...
