Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi (called Ultimate Blast in Japan) was released in North America and Europe back in October, but for our good friends in Japan the wait to get their hands on the latest DBZ fighter has been an additional 40+ days. No matter though as the Japanese release date of December 8th is almost here! That means popular Japanese video game magazine Famitsu has had the chance to review the game. What was their verdict? A 31/40. How did they come up with that score? Well, Famitsu generally has 4 staff members play the game and then give their opinion of it in the form of a score out of 10. The sum of their individual scores is the total score for the game. In other words for Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi, three staff members from Famitsu gave the game an 8/10, while one gave it a 7/10 for a total of 31/40.
That’s actually not that bad, a 77.5%. Between North America and Europe, the game has received an average rating of a 59%, according to Metacritic’s compilation of scores from 21 critics such as IGN and GameSpot.
In terms of comparing Ultimate Tenkaichi on equal ground with other Dragon Ball games Famitsu has reviewed, it’s ranked toward the bottom. It’s actually tied for worst Dragon Ball PS3/360 game ever with last year’s Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2. Check out the list below.
