Family trying to push their religion in one of the saddest ways.

My post got deleted before because I didn't make myself clear and because of my Orochimaru avatar that I had....but anyways some of my family members were calling me and told me that my aunt has ovarian cancer. I was harassed and told that I need to believe in their god and they even went as far as to use racism by saying "You are confused because of these white people." so I stop answering my phone for them and I text them telling them that I will not have a conversation with them if they have to use racism to try to prove a point.I was upset because it seems like they were more concern with me believing in their belief than my aunt's well being. There is a few reasons that I choose not to believe in what they believe in but I really don't want to get into that currently.

Every group on earth composed of 2+ people in it will almost ALWAYS have arrogance -& stupidity in them. I mean, I'm a life long Southern Baptist but I have has ENOUGH of seeing , hearing & even receiving crap like that. My sympathies, and I'm sorry if they're pushing you away.

You say that with absolute certainty, making intelligent people either laugh or in my case, get disgusted and call you out on your nonsense. Even so, people who assert their ideas will ultimately fail in persuading another individual, regardless of what their saying is true or not, which is a shame since most people connote religious folk as invasive and really one of the major reasons they are dismayed from religious beliefs.

I'm not understanding why they would do that either.That's one of the reasons I was mad at them. I know they have been upset at me for a while because I told them a few days ago that I can't lie to them about believing in their religion. They continuously try to change my mind and always harass me and start saying something asinine and today they made it even worst by trying to convince me to believe in their god after telling me my aunt had cancer than they started to say racist stuff and assume I don't agree with their belief because of another race of people.

How does that tie up with your aunt having a cancer? I don't see the connection unless they asked you to join some kind of prayer for her which you refused and made some harsh negative words for it. or what? I really don't see the connection..

Did your family blame the society or the people you are hanging out with for your attitude which happened to be classified as white? They may be racist for all I know but in this case, in this case half the reason might have been the words you chose to say no to them.

They are your family. If you are completely independent and have no interest in ever keeping a contact with them, then it's fine. But otherwise I won't be using the word like " their god" and certainly won't make it a case of racism on a forum unless I have something solid and serious to back up such an accusation. Different religious inclinations within a family are bound to cause some level of friction and some times comments which they really not mean in the same sens as you.

A god - now you say it. This sounds less rude or confrontational.

I didn't say you should say " my god", but definitely there is a problem with how you express yourself and that approach seems rather rude to me. I am not going to waste my time in explaining more about why. You have been so haphazard that I had to put up a scenario to make you clarify it better so it will take like forever to come to point with you or me understanding what you want to say. But it's your family so try a different approach maybe.
