Do you think that the only reason why there is relative peace in the shinobi world now is because, despite the fact that the 5 kages are friends and all, the fact is, the other villages are afraid of Konoha's Hokage and Sasuke? No. Hashirama was what Naruto and Sasuke are now of his era and even after divvying up the tailed beast to other nations peace still didn't last and he still got killed in war. Naruto and Sasuke aren't invincible. They bleed the same way a fodder fisherman would.

So true. Naruto and Sasuke's presence keep the really nasty guys from causing too much ruckus. But inversely, their presence also invites those with power to test their own. So they bring both peace and trouble.

And as you said, the slightest disagreement or clashing point of views could potentially trigger yet another Shinobi world war

If that was the case then the other villages would have been making a secret weapons or forbidden jutsu so that whenever the country go at war they would be prepared and the kages wouldnt be acting friend-like but out of fear witch would make even naruto notice it.

The fact that there is now inter-village marriage and family ties among the villages is what will keep the peace I think.

It may be true to a extent but most the time it doesn't matter how much power on has but still get best'd by some1 of little importance..

(example) Goku Rival of F! Goku gets beat by a laser beam bein caught off guard with all his power. Naruto bein pierce by Sasuke sword from Shin, bein caught off guard with all his power..

Naruto & Sasuke are not keeping the other villages in check an that's why there is no NV wide peace.. Big nations like Konoha tend to forget about the struggles of smaller nations.. (So they force their will upon them)
