Falling Nights - Chapter 1: Kosaki Onodera!?
“Sigh, why does my life have to be so simple?” a sad and exhausted voice spoke from the edge of classroom. There sitting on his chair was a young male, roughly the age of 17 though his 18th birthday was no less than a month and a half away. It was the first day back from summer break and he already felt as if he the school was draining his energy. It’s not like he did much during his break anyway, simply remaining at home and reading his manga all day. Ishuno Hojji was his name. He was your average high school guy with little care for the modern world. He was a shut in so to speak but he still was quite social able with the others around him.
“Jeez will this damn bell ring for lunch already?!” he mumbled under his breath but still loud enough for his neighbor student to hear him. A small chuckle came from the girl sitting next to him, Jacline Nasahi to be more exact. She was Ishuno’s childhood friend since pre-school, even growing up in the same district as him. She knew him like a book and vice versa, Ishuno had a crush on her for almost his entire life but can never seem to get the words out to her. She started to speak to him in a soft tone.
“It’s only been one day so far and you’re already complaining Ishuno-san” she said with a smile on her face. Ishuno looked to his right but only for a few seconds as he started to blush bright red. Her smile seems to make him weak just from a glance, but Ishuno shock it off and looked forward with a stern look in his eyes and didn’t reply instantly but turned back to her and spoke.
“It’s not that…these damn orientations are so pointless! Every new school term we got to do this but I mean we keep our old home room teacher, so we don’t need no introductions” he said with annoyance in his voice. Jacline simply sighned and thought to herself. “Oh Ishuno…”. It was only mere moments when the door of the class room opened up wide as Professor Nanaki came into the room. He was very old but looked like a late 25 year old man. He came to his desk and clearing his throat to get everyone’s attention.
“Ah yes, well good morning students it’s good to see you’re all back for your final year in school. I apologize for my late arrival but something came up with registration for a new student who transferred this term. Unfortunately the class the principal had assigned was mixed up with another student. So as of today you all will have a new class mate!”
The students were actually quite excited, mainly the boys that where. Questions like “I wonder if she is pretty” or “Oh man, new girl means better chances” was all that can be heard from the males. Ishuno was rather bored of the thought of a new face in the class. Something was bothering him however, it was sometime during the summer he meet a gang of travelers from a foreign country.
-Flash Back to Summer-
“Hey are guys lost?” Ishuno asked the gang of teens. They seemed to be from the neighboring city but most have gotten lost on the main road and took a bad turn. The male driver who was looking at his map watched Ishuno with a grateful smile and shock his head asking how to get to the Fujitora Grand Museum. Ishuno simply pointed them in the direction of the museum which was only about a mile away.
“Thanks bro!” the man said with thumbs up. A simple smile was painted on Ishuno’s face but in reality he didn’t really care but it would have been rude to just leave them stranded in there. It was only a moment he caught a real glimpse of the others in the small jeep. The young female in the passenger seat was there looking out the other way. She was pretty cute, and the blush on her cream skin made it worst. She looked to the other side and caught Ishuno looking at her. Obviously embarrassed, Ishuno looked away quickly before she said something. The gang then left but Ishuno never saw them again after that day. The girl was really attractive to Ishuno, but knowing it only lasted a few seconds he really wanted to talk to her.
-Reality-
Back in class, Professor Nanaki cleared his throat to gain the attention of the class again. He then spoke to the person on the outside waiting with soft “You may come in now!”. The young female with cream white skin and long hair reaching her shoulders came in with small steps. She was rather cute but Ishuno paid no attention at first.
“Alright class! This here is Lady Kosaki Onodera . She came from the nearby city and has chosen to take her lessons further at our fine school!” he ended with a clap as well as the other students and small wolf calls came from the crowd. Jacline nudged Ishuno in the stomach simply to make him clap as well. He said and started to clap as well when he turned his head, only to be surprised by the sight of the girl. It was her…the same on from that day back in the summer. “She… transferred schools?!” Ishuno ‘s heart started race at the thought. His summer crush is now in his school! Kosaki who was still smiling and waving to the students caught eyes with Ishuno. It was almost as if the two of them where the only ones there. She gave a soft smile and whispered “Arigato” from her lips. Ishuno was good at reading lip but why was she thanking him?
