I personally enjoy it. It keeps the same serious/humorous vine that One Piece has, but there are many instances when you think the main characters are done, but they get up on the thought of fighting for friends!

Kinda like Naruto vs Neji!

I'd say it's a good series, it's not a top tier by any means but it's pretty fun. Very similar in style to One Piece.

It's essentially an action Shounen, and if you're familiar with a lot of that mainstream stuff then it's pretty similar. With the flashy action, focus on friendship, and all that sorta thing. The fights are really good and when Fairy Tail tries, the development is actually handled quite well. In particular I really liked Erza and her major story arc, probably the peak of the series and definitely rivals the other big Shounens. Fairy Tail isn't perfect and some arcs are kinda meh but I don't think it's ever as bad as Naruto or Bleach at their worst. I will say that FT never gets to One Piece's level though, but overall it isn't a bad series.
