Nice backstory 5/5 chapter. Although Mavis was 13 when she meet the others, that seems slightly young.

This is manga is excellent.I liked it a lot.So Mavis went on hardships in her life when she was a kid.I would love to see the formation of FT Guild in next chapter.Seems like Yuriy Dreyar is a funny guy.This chapter is fast paced and things happen'd at fater rate than I expected it would be.So where mavis lived her life in her childhood now became a Tenroujima...seems interesting.I wonder how Hiro will link the Mavis & Zeref timeline

Gray spin off is good.So this events are occuring after Ur's death and on gray's way to FT Guild.Good to hear that Hiro Mashima Sensei is supervising this Spin off rather than leaving completely in his assistants hands.This will made this spin off canon material.I am looking forward to more adventures

I really liked Mavis's story, even more than the Gray story.
Mainly because I have always loved to find out about the previous generations in every manga I read.

The previous generations to me, are just so fascinating to find out about.

This has a lot of potential to be something cool.

Anyone got a idea of how long this spin off will be, is it just a couple of chapters like a miniseries or will it be a full series ?

Also a big giant flashback also is risky business for Hiro with existing charachters and dates and places. It's waiting for plotholes or inconsitancies to happen. I hope he doesn't screw up.

I liked this chapter, I might pick it up if the next chapters will be off this quality. If it will be litterally FT 2 I'm not going to bother.

i figured that third guy was makarov's pops from the original manga. but yeah so far this seems to be/will be a good origin story.

As for Spin-off I think it will be shown upto the point where Gray joins FT guild...My guess would be around 15 or so chapters(If they have the idea of putting a little bit of Lyon+Gray moments

As for the Zer0 Series,It is a manga that'll feature in hiro's own monthly magazine every month from now on.It is going to cover from the point of formation of FT guild to may be their departure & next then next generation....or to say the events that occurred before the start of the series.I do like to see if the mysteries of the FT manga are explained here in FT Zer0 manga rather than having a "History arc" of 50 - 60 Chapters in actual manga..that'll be boring.Yes it is going to be a full series

The important dates are all connected with 7's... Year x679 (the year this side story begins) is a multiple of 7 (7 * 97 = 679). The dragons vanished in x777, as you said, which is obviously 7 * 111. the actual manga began in x784, 7 years later, and the time skip jumped 7 years to x791; both multiples of 7, obviously. Remember that future Rogue said he came from 7 years in the future as well (x798).

Even the span between this story and the current manga fits the formula, since 112 is 7 * 16.

I really enjoyed Mavis' story! It's nice to learn about the formation of Fairy Tail. Gray's story was good too, however, not as great as Zer0

the Mavis backstory was pretty well done and an amazing way to start off the story of how the guild begins. Rating 9/10
as for Spin off - Fairy Tail - Ice Trail, it was pretty decent but I'm not all that interested though, I'll read the next chapters to see how interesting it gets. Rating 7.5/10

That might explain why Tenrou Island is so sacred to the guild.

The story started off pretty good. Things in the past were apparently very violent. Makarovs father!!
