I just reread the chapter. At first I thought that the last page was showing Irene when she was younger with the silhouette of her dragon form on the background, however now I'm just thinking all those silhouettes are random dragons and that she doesn't have something like a dragon form (unlike Acnologia). That would make a bit more sense as I was pondering on the issue that if she was similar to Acno, who can transform, how come she's always in human form and why would she be working under someone else? Though of course that creates another problem, namely how a human can don the title 'Queen of Dragons'.

I had this same thought the only reason I'm leaning towards him is he is the current dragon king and the only person switching between each form as far as them not acknowledging each other could be because of the lost of their child but this is a stretch really I'm going out on a limb for a good explanation I'm still a little upset all the strongest mages are from 400 years ago now maybe even erza next thing we know gildarts will come from the past

Garbage tier writing. And here are the reasons why:

1.) It was never foreshadowed that Ellieen was the Queen of the Dragons. If there was, wouldn't Acnologia have known her. I mean, come on. And this fact alone could possibly explain why Erza is always winning her fights (A bunch of B.S) and is overpowered.

2.) Larcade or whoever has been defeated? WTF?! I thought it was said that only Mavis could beat him.

Lets see Acno has been round for 400 years or so. If Ierene was the former queen of dragons, how come acno doesn't recognise or know about her. Though Ierene seemed to know who he was the moment she saw acno in his human form.

Secondly if Ierene truly was the queen of dragons, then maybe she was before Acno, which would make her like 400++ years old!! Which is very unlikely, bit possible. Also there is another fact thats playing in my mind - Rather then being supreme Queen of dragons, she maybe a dragon queen of an certain element. Like - Igneel (King of flames) / God Serena used a ds water attak of the sea dragon king, something like that.

For now its way to complicated to jump the guns.
