Guys, what if the book is destroyed, Natsu dies?

That was actually my first thought when I read this chapter. I was never in favor of the whole Natsu = END thing, however the first scenario that came to mind were Natsu destroys it = he dies, he opens it = he awakens.

I find it odd that people are saying this lessens the chance of him being END.

Maybe they are taking igneel's words seriously? "It's a thing only you can do" or something like that.
I'm sure natsu will get help from A)gray, B)someone else, laxus? Random guess. lol.

What if END, the ultimate Magic of Zeref, is actually something that will awaken all DS? I mean, only thing so far that could hold a candle towards dragons at any point in time were DS. Ingeel couldn't defeat END. So...what if END is just a magic to make control or wtv DS?

I highly doubt that that's the case, for various reasons; if it was some kind of DS trigger I doubt Acnologia would be bothered by it, since well he's like the ultimate DS, but even more so with the way END has been described so far, I believe he's some kind of sentient force?, idk he just doesn't seem to ring demon to me

I think none other than defending the others. Simple reason: he had several chapters dedicated to him and he has been on screen long enough recently. I doubt he'll have a bigger role than that anytime soon.

Lucy had her moment when she summoned the Celestial King.

Gray had his moment when he defated his dad.

Wendy had her moment when she cut off her hair and realized she needed to grow up.

Erza and Minerva had theirs in their fight.

Gajeel just had his.

Natsu is having his moment.

Only thing that might happen to change this all is if Makarov releases the light of the Guild (wtv it is) to defeat END or this Marde Gueer or wtv.

I see, it's natsu's time to shine. However, i hope that this arc continues to be amazing, same goes to future one's.

I don't think that Natsu's moment is coming anytime soon.

Natsu was given 1 task, and that is to defeat Mard Geer and steal the book. That's the problem to it, no way in hell is Natsu going to defeat Mard Geer by himself. Yeah yeah, FT is known for random power-ups and asspulls. But I just can't imagine a power-up that would immediately make Natsu a high tier. If you look at the Celestial Spirit King's feats, he was an absolute monster. And Mard Geer wasn't even impressed with what the Spirit King did, as if the Spirit King was just a child.

Anyways, I just don't see Natsu defeating Mard Geer by himself. He's going to need assistance from others.

Agree, the celestial spirit king was an absolute beast. Natsu only has that flame lightning dragon mode for him. But that's not enough to defeat geer. in fact, natsu has already taken alot of damage and has been fighthing alot, i doubt he can pull something new at this point. Gray will most probably show up to help him, but maybe jellal as well? We don't know about him and his team since awhile, figure it was time to bring them back to the manga to help fairy tail.

Natsu is as strong as the plot deems necessary. You guys should know this by now. Hiro is inconsistent with Natsu's power level.
