Makarov: too old, there's so many candidates in FT for his replacement.
Guildarts: he's strong, but some of the members of FT are on their way to his level.

Ichiya: not sure of name (the annoying not-so-tall guy from blue pegasus)

I completly agree, I mean even if some one were to die in fairytail, it would not be gray for sure because he is one of the main characters!! It was probably all part of grays plan and the gray we saw die was actually a clone. I think this because when all the beams hit him he smiled to himself knowingly! plus thats the better plot twist than gray actaullly dieing!

Overall.. I loved this chapter... Personally this "Nakama" Power is crap man... Like... NONE of them died during the last obliteration of their island.... by 1 dragon and your telling me their gonna survive an event with 7 dragons and 1hundred minis?! not one being dead?! Psh... If anybody should die... It should be... Gray or Erza (For writers purpose) Gray is no longer needed actually.. Cause if you think about it... Gajeel kinda took his spot and is now more of Natsu rival then Gray

Due to some issues, I finally get the chance to read this chapter today and to my surprise, the beginning to middle was pretty epic. Poor Jellal has finally received the attention he’s long deserved and Mashima cleared his name via Ultear. However, everything began to go south once Gray (my #1 favorite FT character) was shot followed by his supposed death. In my opinion, I’m thinking Mashima will have Ultear sacrifice her life for Gray with a random power-up like others have stated earlier as she felt too guilty to continue living. The next chapter’s title sort of spoils this thus I feel much better. Although hypothetically speaking, if Mashima decides to kill off Gray then this manga will never be the same for me.
