This chapter was OK nothing great. The 1st half was boring because there was noway that Toby was going to be someone from Raven Tail so at least that fight got finished.

I thought Erza would fight Bacchus but it's cool well get to see Elfman but he'll loose. It really feels like Hiro is going out of his way to make Fairy Tail look bad. Probably until when this arc really starts when the villains make there move whatever that may be. Because you know the tournament won't have real ending whatever is goiung on will disrupt it.

All the downplaying before Elfman even made it into the arena. Besides all the other matches were disrupted and besides. Elfman will smack this guy through a wall and the audience will be rooting for Fairy Tail even more since the previous chapter.

Okay, Hiro and emotional moments rarely went in pair together. He does try it often but most often fails - the sock tearing or Raven's psychoo chick in beaten state in this chapter are another newest examples. Bare some moments in other chapters, most of the emotional scenes were overpowered by the great dosage of hilarity.

So, it's a pleasant surprise that he spring up such a poignant emotional build-up with Elfman. Bacchus, teasing Elfman with a bet on Mirajane and Lisanna, was fantastic stuff. It was effective, bold, villainous and you really could feel the emotions of Elfman. Brilliant!

The first half of the chapter was usual FT though. A new magic move (Mimic), a funny name (Doggish Dude lol), a funny reaction (Erza going all schweet over Doggie Dude's idiocy), an okay battle and a troll moment (Elfman chosen instead of Erza).

I'm rooting for Elfman definitely. He's looking beast and after this fabulous emotional build-up and the fact that he's an underdog, I'm gonna get pissed if Hiro trolls him. Audience are also more on FT side now being the emotional underdog and thus I think, their 2nd day are going to be full of overturning situations in their favor. Kick his ass, Elfman!

I'd give it a 3/5 but I found the Bacchus/Elfman angle extremely great build-up material with heavy emotional factor. It's something unusual from the classic fanservice+battle+trolling of Hiro and for that praiseworthy attempt, 4/5.

I kinda liked this chapter (Lolz, I hardly every dislike 'em)

Shocker really, Flare <3 got beaten for almost losing that match. Feel sorry for her
And Toby as well. I found it wierd that he wore a sock around his neck. I guess it was a bit touching to see why it was there. What a guy

As for Elfman and Bacchus. I get a feeling that Bacchus said that on purpose just to get Elfman riled up, 'coz Elfman looked kinda un-confident about winning the match, thus he wouldn't fight to his full potential.

Next chapter is gonna be Epic GO ELFMAN, GO!!!

Been awhile since I last posted. My thoughts for the chapter actually express a mutual like and dislike for the chapter. Simply because I am a battle crazed maniac desiring to read good fights, then again I do enjoy dialogue, when it is good, when it is present. So, blah.

In the end, I am totally revved up for Elfman's fight against Roman God Boy. Can't spell his name, and I wanted to show off my knowledge of mythology.

Hmm, I give this chapter a 2/5...

is it just me or does it seems like raven tail and sabertooth are in a league of there own? from my understanding fairy tail should be the weak ones because they have been MIA for 7 years but that doesn't justify why Limia Scale and the other guilds still suck. or am i just being biased?

As for a prediction of 277... i don't think Elfman will win. or if he does it won't be because he is stronger. I doubt hiro would put Elfman on the same level as Erza, since she and Bacchus should be equal in power. That said I am expecting a tie. or another humiliating defeat!

although i could also see them making a turn around for FT making it seem like they are about to win and then the tournament being cancelled... sigh, its depressing but addicting.

I hope your right I would like to see Elfman do good. & start seeing Fairy Tail kick some butt.
