I almost cried, but seriously not only makarov will die during the fight against Zeref, other fairy tail members will die along with him, I have a feeling that Gildarts or Laxus will die.

What you say is true, but my reasoning was that his interests would be leaned towards watching and protecting Cana more than the ENTIRE village. Despite guild/friend ties, nothing is stronger than blood. I'd be too concerned with getting my daughter to safety if not destroying whoever it was than I would be making sure that Natsu had enough energy to fight. :shrug:

That reasoning makes not much sense as you just now destroyed everything Fairy Tail stands for. First and for all he doesn't need to protect an entire village, but a guild. Secondly if he wants to protect Cana, he needs to stay in the guild. What better way to do that when he's the master of the guild? Also by saying "nothing is stronger than blood" you just completely destroyed the essence of Fairy Tail =/ Fairy Tail IS a family which transcends blood ties, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Makarov's grandson, "his blood", was also in the guild. Still did he ever considered all the other members less than Laxus because they weren't related by blood? Of course not. He clearly said that all of them were his children.

I for one, don't believe Laxus will be master right away. However, he will be the true successor in due time.

I willing to bet, no one assumes leadership and it is simply ran by all its members. Or, at the significant ones towards the manga itself. Therefore, meaning Natsu and co.

That would be an interesting perspective to read a guild being operated as.

After giving what you and I both previously said, I am not ashamed. I simply took into account how I would think things would go. Yea, sure, Fairy Tail as a whole is a family within a guild (you know what I meant by village ), but to find out that someone in that family that transcends blood ties is actually related to you by blood and you had no idea I would think that Gildarts would be a little selfish. Like he said either in 251 or 250, when he leaves on Missions, she's going with him. He might stay since Makarov's dead now, but I doubt it would be for being Master of Fairy Tail since when he initially found out that he had a daughter that wasn't even enough to make him stay.
