Im the type to give every Anime a chance but honestly I couldn't get past the first 50 episodes of FT. There was no plot they were just going on random missions, the fights made 0 sense (Natsu being electrocuted and knocked out in 1 strike, then being able to tank multiple hits afterwards and carry on fighting), pointless crying every 3 seconds, every battle is won through the power of friendship and love and whatever, no blood, they tried to add too much comedy, the TNJ in it is just unbelievable... the reason Fairy Law didn't work for Lexus was just poor.
This is just my opinion and is based on the first 60 chapters or so. It may have gotten better later on.

ppl here underestimate fairy tail it is a very entertaining anime that i have enjoyed very much and to put it done cuz your on a naruto site and you feel cool when in reality your not is just pathetic

som ppl like different things and if the op wants to like fairytail more then naruto who are you to tell him he is wrong.....do you really feel so special and almighty that you think your words of insult are taken as more then a lame joke

Fairy tail, lol. The manga where everyone gets random friendship power-ups, has suckish character development, is completely cliche, and lives by giving fanservice with boobs. If you ignore the fighting and character designs, and look at the plot and the characters personalities/actions ect, you'll find that it's really quite appalling imo. To be honest, fairy tail is nothing special, there are tons of people who could re-create. "Fairytail", all you have to do is throw in a spiky haired male protagonist, a useless-tryna-get-stronger female protagonist, a couple of twigs with tits, several dozen servings of cliche, dragons, mages, some nice fight scenes and a new baddie each arc and you got yourself a FT rip off. xD

I have to wholeheartedly disagree.
Fairy Tail has no story line. It has random arcs, and it is going nowhere. It's a dead-end of a series.
Natsu's goal/dream was to find Igneel, when did he ever pursue it really. It's like a sitcom with no real story line, that you only watch for the laughs, it's fanservice. Compare that to Naruto, which has a real story line, and character development. Just because the author of Naruto doesn't give the readers exactly what they want, doesn't mean it's a worse series than a series created by someone who gives viewers exactly what they want.

Most of the arcs in Fairy Tail I just watch, and forget about as soon as a new arc starts. There's no memorable story in it, no memorable arcs. I've followed Fairy Tail ever since the manga was at 20 chapters ( waaay before the anime even started), and I cannot list almost any of the arcs chronologically.
Naruto I can probably list 95% of the arcs, because it had good story line behind it, and it stuck in my head, where as in Fairy Tail it's just simple enjoyment. It's entertaining, but it lacks depth and real story.
I really enjoy reading Fairy Tail because it's entertaining, but cool fights and strong characters, if that is all you are looking in a series, you've misunderstood the whole concept of a story.

It's like wanting to marry a chick just for her 10/10 looks. She's great in bed and all, and she keeps you sexually satisfied, but she's no marriage material, she can't cook, has horrible personality(2/10) and a shopping and drinking addiction and father-daughter issues.

While Naruto is more like 7/10 looks and 9/10 personality, 9/10 marriage material.

I disagree, there is pretty much no story in Fairy Tail, and the fanservice is overdone, Natsu is just a pathetic version of Luffy, and is pretty annoying, and the power of friendship, oh Lord, don't get me started. It is a fun series, and Mashima is smart but in terms of quality it is pretty average.

Isn't fairy tails main plot just starting after so many random arcs?

well actually IMO its not that bad and I sometimes find the manga more enjoyable than Naruto manga weekly (the tournament arc is actually good.) and most give up on this series for the same reason as one piece it starts slow but gets better with each arc. FT is actually good with recent episodes if not excellent with the fights and the manga. Also its not as cliche as naruto can be at times. But FT takes so much from other stuff but makes it it's own at the same time and you gotta admit it is good for laughs and good fights. Its not the perfect anime/manga (onepiece and blue exorcist has that place IMO) but its still good none the less.

i disagree - but FT is very entertaining and the story it's different to the big 3 and that it's very fast paced i enjoy that aspect of it also you don't really need to remember a whole lot to enjoy it

verdict- FT has to really improve to even be close to the big 3
