I'll VM you the site I read manga on. Good thing about this site is that it also tells you when the next chapter will be released. All you have to do is Search for Fairy Tail.

You'd be surprised the next arc isn't too bad actually, they sort of refer to it in the manga at some point later on. It took a little while to get into it but its starting to get good now!

254 is the start of a mini-arc, which is then followed by the main story arc (the current one) on 258.

254 is what happen 7 years after they arrived. And 258 is the actual start.
