kakashi ahd to let zabuza get one hit on him to take zabuza down, he got lucky it wasnt a neck shot or that the main characterslike the rest of the ninjas dont die form cuts etc.....

It was an A rank for a good reason. Two jounin level ninja and one of them who had gone wrong were attempting to murder an important man who was key for the bridge. S-rank is something that could potentially lead to wars, power shifts, or ill jutsu will bad intentions. A S-rank mission was something like saving Gaara, a Kazekage and jinchuuriki, from the Akatsuki (Rogue ninja faction). That more than deserved an S-rank. I don't remember what it's rank was though...

Zabuza is nowhere near low-kage, his best tech is hidden mist jutsu, which all of the kage/low kage nin can easily get around. he is elite jonin.
