Neji from the very start was a genius learning the Hyuga secrets from observing alone, he easily would have surpassed Hiashi if he didn't die. His byakugan would help him see in case his students were in trouble and he became much more kind and understanding since he lost to Naruto in part 1. I believe Neji should have been a bigger part of an Akatsuki member being beat, Shikamaru got his glory but not Neji

Dont think so. Techniquely Neji is one of the FEW characters the can completely fodderize an enemy. No chakra circulation GG.

Definitely could have grown into a fantastic character.

And I honestly did believe he would become the leader of the Hyuuga eventually especially after his fight with Naruto.

The fact he told him to change the way the clan was. He definitely could have done it and despite that could have done a lot more.

Sad they wasted such a great character for pairing purposes only.
