Yes one of Madara's schemes was to attain Hashirama's DNA but the fight was not only that he wanted to fight for the sole purpose of attaining his DNA. Some people make it sound that Madar only fought for the DNA and then pretended to be dead after Hashirama got him.

In reality, Madara was not capable of beating Hashi then, not because he simply wanted the DNA but because he could not. Another way of seeing it is that if Madara was strong enough, he would kill Hashi and then take his DNA and then rule the world easily.

I just wanted to share since i've been reading some people that failed to notice that and yes madara claimed his sharingan can see past wood clones but i thought he had deactivated his sharingan.

But Madara didn't gain rinnegan immediately. It took him a lot longer to get it, so he wouldn't have been able to take over then. Besides, he still needed to get the tailed beasts. Having people thinking him dead would be advantageous.

true about the rinnegan but nonetheless no one could stand on par with madara if he had somehow won. You're saying one of his incentives was to simply get the DNA, wait for hashi to die and scheme in the downlow as everyone thought him dead.

But if people knew he were alive and plotting something, they may have tried to stop him. And, of course, he was injured trying to get the DNA. At that point, he may not have been able to defeat his opponents as easily, so he needed to hide.

that can be true too...so areu suggesting he lost on purpose to be given the opportunity to hide or cuz there was nothing else for madara to do or both?

Never said that..nothing i've said is wildly outrageous

well you did stated "failed interpretation" it means people misunderstood Madara intention, while the manga make it as clear as day that Madara's goal is the moon eye plan and in order to do that he need the rinnegan which is only available if he have Senju DNA,
what you said is something that will kill the plot and make the manga less interesting or maybe the story will never start at all,

I'm suggesting that either one of those may be true....As of now, I can conclude nothing further.

obviously i know thatwould kill plot and just cuz manga says something, people still misunderstand...it's like when hashi said itachi is a better shinobi..people freaked and misunderstood and said itachi > hashi so manga stating it doesnt guarantee misinterpretation
