Shukaku suspected Itachi's caliber could only cast illusions on the entire Shinobi Alliance; Ao who saw through KotoAmatsukami outright claimed he cant see through Itachi normal genjutsu let alone MS or Tsukiyomi. 1.- Other Genjutsus that aint Tsukuyomi wont affect Minato. He is very great at chakra control and a Sensor. Izanami only works with those who lost path and Izanagi. Minato is a sensor and Itachi cant catch him off guard.

2.- Gai is not the only exception. There was war between clans such as Uchihas and Senjus where Hashirama and Tobirama survived and something they have different from other is that both are SENSORS. No wonder why they could fight Uchihas. Minato is a better sensor than Hashirama.

Wow. What logic. Shukaku never said Itachi cannot do that, Ao said it. Ao has never seen Itachi doing the genjutsu in practical as he says "From what I know only Itachi can control from out of sensory range without being sensed by me" in viz translation. Meaning Ao has only heard rumours. He never said "From what I have seen". Shukaku knows Itachi better than Ao; the sweat in his face proves Itachi can really control that many people; Itachi was dead at that point so there was no need for suspecting he's doing it anyway so Shukaku never retracted Ao's statement.

He can repel bijuu bomb back at kurama with yata And not to mention kurama would be put under genjutsu before he had a chance to fine anything

Itachi wouldnt be able to teleport to konoha like minato did so there might be some casualties, that is True However the fact still remains that itachi would deal with kurama a lot more easily
