Without spoiling anything as well, I'd warn that the evil endings in Fable are particularly tragic, cruel, and pathetic. Not very heartwarming conclusions.

Good is always good. I've went evil once in Lost Chapters when I first played because I wanted the horns. There isn't much of a bonus for it besides Skorms Bow and Sword of Aeons, which is the exact same as Avo's Tear if you were good.

It's actually easier to get Skorm's Bow if your alignment is good.

OT: I always play good first. Honestly, whenever I play the evil character in Fable, I just felt so bad because you do some horrible things.

I mean you beat up a kid to get a teddy bear he was protecting for a girl and then give it to a bully to burn. How would you not tear up from that? And that was only in the beginning! lol

It's still fun as balls though to be evil and you get horns, but there's something about Fable which really makes me immersed more so than the other games. So doing evil stuff in the game makes me feel terrible than any other alignment games I've played.
