Bakuton, otherwise knows as blast release, is the amalgam of the substituents earth release and lightning release. Within context of the manga (excluding deidara's usage), it's been shown to be used in conjunction with taijutsu. Certainly a match made in heaven as both work together scintillatingly to grant the user explosive capabilities in all ranges. The element itself can be manipulated in different ways to give provision to a smorgasbord of other needs -- i.e. speed boosts, puffs of smoke to conceal something/someone momentarily, etc -- but in most cases almost invariably results in some sort of explosion. Who doesn't like a bit of a showy boom boom bam bam?
The sweet thing about it is there's hardly, if any, recoil. So when you release a blast, you yourself don't go flying back too, lol - unless that was the intention. The trajectory can be controlled to assist in the aforementioned and to avoid being caught up in the explosion.

Yeah, pretty spot on. Now when you do learn my customs in the near future you're going to see radically different methods of creating those explosions than what is in the canon techniques. Many of these types of Bakuton customs cannot be made anymore, and I'll be sure to note which ones. So don't always use my customs as a guide to making your own.

( Bakuton no Jutsu ) - Explosion Release Technique

Description: The user by molding and manipulating their chakra into their hands can concentrate their explosive chakra into their palms to create a small explosive blast that is can repel incoming kunai and sending them back at their attacker or the user can use to simply break an opponents weapon or small tools.
Note: Can only be used by Gari or Explosive style users from the Hidden Stone.

Fairy straightforward, no questions there. And yeah, I remember seeing a conversation in passing on discord. There was a mention of bakuton being restricted and some approved customs that had to be abolished as a result. But I wasn't sure because there aren't any restrictions stated in the bakuton thread. I know now for sure though

(Bakuton: Hiji E no Eikyō) Blast Release: Elbow Impact

Damage: 40 (+20 to punches)
Description: The user focuses Bakuton chakra into their elbow and performs one of the two following actions. The user can either punch their target and release the chakra to push their fist further into the target once contact is made, or establish direct contact with the target with his elbow and release the chakra to generate an explosion from the initial point of contact. Due to the directionality of the blast, the user minimizes any potential repercussions, such as being struck by resultant debris and even recoil appears to be completely negated.
Note: Carries all the same advantages, disadvantages, and restrictions as Landmine Fist when used through direct contact

So 20 damage points is incurred when you punch the target and use the explosion from your elbow to drive your fist further into them. And 40 damage is dealt when you elbow the target and directly hit them with the explosion. Kewl

Description: After Establishing direct with their opponent through a simple punch, the user utilizes their respective Explosion Release to subsequently generate an enormous explosion from the initial point of contact. This explosion is powerful enough to cause severe physical damage and send the target flying backwards. Due to the directionality of the blast, the user minimizes any potential repercussions, such as being struck by resultant debris and even recoil appears to be completely negated.
Note: Can only be used by Blast Release bios.
(Bakuton: Jiri Kiki) Blast Style: Landmine Kick

Description: After establishing direct contact with their opponent through a simple kick, the user utilizes their respective Explosion Release to subsequently generate an enormous explosion from the initial point of contact. Due to the direction of the blast, the user minimizes any potential repercussions, such as being struck by resultant debris and even recoil appears to be completely negated.
Note: This jutsu follows all strengths, weaknesses, and restrictions of Landmine Punch

(Bakuton - Bakuhatsu heiki) Blast Release: Explosive Weaponry

Description: The user focuses his blast chakra into a weapon which he is holding, imbuing it with explosive tendancies, after which once the user strikes the opponent with that said weapon, on the point of contact an explosion is given off similar to that of the landmine fist technique which acts in the same way as to avoid damage to the user.
This technique can be used on any weapon and due to the blast being concentrated in such a way to avoid damage to the user and the weapon he is holding, the weapon itself won't break under the blasts explosive power. The explosion that occurs on contact is as powerful as landmine fist and can cause severe burns and cause the opponent's own weapons to break easily. The effects of this jutsu are similar to landmine fist except through the extension of a weapon instead.

The first one releases an explosion at the point of contact when you punch them; the second and third function the same, except the method of contact is different. The second is with a kick and the third via a weapon. Kewl beans
