Id like to start out by saying i solely created this naruto base account to post this thread. IT INVOLVES MY OWN OPINION ON THIS FOOLISHLY OP EYE JUTSU.

As many people have predicted, izanami is the opposite of izanagi, yes we all knew this the very second amaterasu was introduced after tsukiyomi back in naruto before shippuuden. (Kishi was using the jap Myth gods)

NOW BEAR WITH ME.

Izanagi according to the myth, gave life. Where as, Izanami, swore to take life.
Here's where your mind gets blown.
Why is there all these godly uchiha with pro eye powers! but none of them have used izanami yet! zomg! ok.. well its actually pretty simple if you think about it.

izanagi = life
izanami = death

nobody has used izanami yet because the only "UCHIHA" around that are dead = Itachi and Madara. (see where im going with this?) YOU HAVE TO BE DEAD TO USE IZANAMI.

madara is currently fighting 5 kage and toying his strength because he hasnt fought in so long, hes not in the dire situation itachi is in, and doesnt feel the need to use it when he has rinnegan. Naturally kishi would display a gods power (madara) while we pretty much know the extent of what itachi can do.( he desperately wants to end the edo).

Back to what i said earlier! izanagi - izanami are opposites. I personally think you have to be dead to use izanami and it DOES NOT require senju dna! i could be wrong but i very highly doubt it! Kishi would make this whole naruto shit even sillier if itachi had a hashirama cell fetish too!

Danzo used izanagi because he "died" giving him another shot at life in his fight against sasuke. (while i think it was foolish for him to just stand there and let himself die, and waste his eyes like that...) Tobi commented saying you need senju dna for this. NATURALLY, this means that Izanami is a genjutsu that takes life! one gives, one takes. One needs senju dna / one doesnt. Both have extreme requirements and dire consequences. ( JAPANESE MYTH FURTHER SUPPORTS THIS )

Im open to all comments and feed back whether its good or bad, share your opinion and tell me what you think. :noc:

Not bad but what's the point of having a Jutsu that you can only use when ur dead, meaning you can't use it unless you get summoned which is really a dumb case.
I could have misunderstood what ur trying to say if so please explain it to me.

He means it takes your life, not that you have to die and magically come back to use it. and this theory isn't half bad, better than these other wild Izanami threads.

this is the first thread about Izanami's power that makes sense....
For more proof, Itachi said that all the preparations are already done.
Welcome to the base by the way!

maybe the Izanagi requires two uchiha members to execute, since izanagi and izanami are siblings.. im guessing it's izanagi performed on user's uchiha partner instead of the user himself. kinda like two sharingans link and covering each other.

there was a page were itachi asked sasuke if he knew izanagi.and the last page stated that the jiutsu was prepared. my guess is that "izanami" user grants the "izanagi" user to alternate his reality(izanami user) rather than the izanagi user himself. *and since the izanagi user does not use it on himself,his sharingan would not loose its light.
** * *Maybe itachi will ask sasuke to use izanagi while he(itachi) attacks kabuto.*
this would really suck if it requires two uchihas two perform. Besides Sasuke, its only Tobi wit Uchiha blood in the manga.I doubt they'll be willing to use it together.

**Just a wild guess on this izanagi jiutsu

i also think itachi only needs tsukoyomi to end the edo tensei,, he just has to figure out how to catch kabuto in it. *

Uchiha Itachi& Uchiha Madara have in common:

dead
both have siblings

but good theory

well those are the requirements to use it and it could be a possibility. Now down to what it does :)
Izanagi is able to change a persons destiny, so for example when Danzo took a hit from susanoo he used Izanagi to CHANGE his destiny of death into a destiny of surviving, this can only happen once the persons destiny is decided, taking those fatal wounds from Sasuke decided his destiny and sent him down the path of death.
Izanami however can DECIDE a persons destiny, so now Itachi is using Izanami to decide his own or Kabuto's destiny. So either Itachi is destined to defeat Kabuto in that battle, or Kabuto is destined to lose, or maybe destined to lose and release the edo jutsu... This is the opposite of Izanagi and can only be used to decide a persons destiny and not change it, if you take a fatal wound then you can't change your own destiny into surviving.
Confusing ability but thats what I make of it, won't know if I'm right until next week hopefully :D

chances are the reason they haven't used it yet is because an eye permanantly looses it's light when you use it...for a genjutsu user to loose an eye would be devastating (especially since we know there are visual jutsu out there that can only be preformed by a specific eye (left or right). So Izanagi and Izanami are pretty much a one shot deal. Even Tobi lost his eye when he used Izanagi against Konan.

I don't really see a reason to agree with your theory. Izanagi shuts off the users eye when used. Why wouldn't Izanami do the same?

BTW: THey can't kill Kabuto! So IZanami cannot be the ability to kill.

and yes Jegriff78 is probably right, the only reason we haven't seen people use it is because it can only be done once, maybe it even blinds BOTH eyes which is why Tobi never used that because he can't afford to lose both of them. Itachi stated that its another jutsu that forms a pair with Izanagi so that's what gives me the idea that both eyes lose their light because you use both pairs of eyes using a different jutsu with each one. Itachi doesn't care about losing his eyes at this point though because he is dead already and his mission is just to defeat Kabuto and talk with Sasuke afterwards.
