Doesn't need to absorb it all. Just put a 360 Preta barrier up and it'll keep the user safe till the explosion stops.

The explosion is chakra. TBB is just a ton of energy condensed into an orb. The explosion consists of all that energy releasing at once, and the energy is chakra.

Since when are shockwaves visibly colored? Shinra Tensei is a shockwave, but Kishi never drew it like he does a TBB, which is always depicted as an actual explosion that consists of expanding energy. It has been depicted the exact same way Deidara's final explosion was, which was also expanding energy.

Susano'o is pure chakra. It wouldn't be flying into bits like wood.
