he didn't need, he asked for bee and naruto's help to aim at the chibaku tensei. doesn't mean nagato can beat itachi without that. saying he can is honestly just as equally as important as saying totsuka blade can beat nagato. whoever does it first wins. assuming itachi doesn't just use amaterasu while nagato forms chibaku hand sign.

SIGH....omg. because chibaku tensei was already activated, remember itachi just got back in time to free naruto and bee from losing their souls. THAT moment, itachi could've used his totsuka blade and sealed nagato, but no. he decided to save those two.
