[Suggestion] Expanding the Like System

I was wondering whether the Like System could be expanded to include more options other than Like and Dislike.

The other options could be :-

LOL
Winner !
I was wondering about that too ?
Cool Post !
Love
WOW !
Troll !

~ There could be other options depending upon what is popular or what the Staff chooses.

Going further we could replace the Thanks/Like Tab on our profile which will show something like this when clicked on :-

You must be registered for see images

And going to the final step, we can add achievements which you get once you reach a certain number of Likes, Wow's, Love, etc.

I think it will make the system more appealing and interactive.

The first one is already there, Like Dislike and Thanks. I think more options could be added.

The other two I don't know.

Like system itself is broken considering people use alts to spam likes to main

If it is, after reading some of the response, many here may abuse the system.. unless this is accepted without rules, it'd be useless. Many things we introduce here for the betterment of users, are usually ruined by a few who simply abuse it and ruin it for everyone else.

My Vote still goes to Sam. We can try it out and see where it ends up.

In my opinion, abuse will always happen. This however doesn't mean we should get rid of the system because of that. If other people enjoy it then why not use it? The Like/Dislike system has popular usage across NB, so what's the harm in adding more options and making it interactive?

Exactly why I voted for it, so we can see what happens.

I kinda agree with adding this if its available. Why? Sometimes I don't want to say I like that post nor want to single myself out for disliking it. I'd rather give something less...risque.

Actually the system is already there. Earlier there was only Thanks, then in the NB revamp Like was added and after that Dislike was added. All that needs to be done is to add more options and give them some cool icons.

Even the second suggestion can be done. Instead of putting the Given and Recieved stats in the post profile it can be put in the Profile under a tab.

Third suggestion, I don't know if it can be done but it would be a cool addition.

This wouldn't be very hard to implement, however I'm not sure it's the direction which we want to take the site.. However I will bring it up with V and see what he thinks.

Personally I'm not really in favor. We are still very well a discussion forum, so having more and more of these instant one-click opinion options seems to be contradictory to what we try to be as it's really not the point of turning NB into some kind of a social medium were the communication is reduced to shallow reply icons. Visually it also wouldn't be pretty as we already have two lines for likes and dislikes, so having 6 or 7 more lines for things like "lol", "cool" would just be a mess.

That seemed to be the only problem I saw with this. Where would the room for the other options go?

Visually it also wouldn't be pretty as we already have two lines for likes and dislikes, so having 6 or 7 more lines for things like "lol", "cool" would just be a mess.

This can be solved by replacing the names with numbers.

Basically this :-

Can be replaced with something like this :-

You must be registered for see images

On NB it would look like this :-

You must be registered for see images

When you click on the numbers, it would open up a new link which will show something like this :

You must be registered for see links

That way it won't take much space.

You take a look at other forums and they are killing us, they are killing us with features, they are killing us with options. We don't win anymore, we don't win anymore, we don't win anymore with member activity, we don't win anymore with discussions.

I think it's so important that we take care of this site and you look at many of our members, They have ENDORSED ME. Sasukebase has called it a revolution, I didn't' call it a revolution, but I think we are going to do so well and we are going to make this Site so strong, so well populated that everyone is going to be happy but it's so important the I lead.
