So it's a given that smoking anything is not exactly healthy, and cigarettes are obviously bad. Now that I've stated this unnecessarily, what if we took this scenario. Say someone only smoked 1-2 packs a week, can that really be so bad? o_O

Well, it won't be as bad as smoking 1 or 2 packs a day, but still bad, obviously.
I think I remember hearing something like every cigarette you smoke is like taking seven minutes off of your life. I suppose that's without factors such as cancer and such.
So.... that's 140-280 minutes per week of your life theoretically gone.

math...........2 packs=40,therefore 40 cigarettes a week=40 steps a week closer to death

or rather just stay the f**k away from the stuff

take 1 puff, blow the smoke on a white piece of paper and see what it does to your lungs

Smoking is a mental pleasure. They say that smoking can easily turn into an addiction one cannot quit but this is untrue, Its mental, As for the health problems it does affect your breathing the more you smoke, Aswell as sexualdrive and heart. Smoking 2 packs a weak is not good but not that bad either... You should smoke 1 instead.

I smoke, But on very rare occasions...

It depends on the individual. Susceptibility to the negative health consequences of cigarettes is linked to a number of genetic variables. It would be possible for some people to smoke the described amount without any noticeable effect while others would surely die from it.

Ah, someone has posted...

It is a bit difficult to put exact numbers on things, plus you always get that granny that's a hundred years old she's been smoking 3 packs a day since she was fifteen. That broad will pop out on you if you're not careful. xd I can't get cancer though...I won't go to a doctor so it will never be diagnosed as cancer and therefore never proven as such...so I can't die of cancer. o_O I'm not joking though. ^_^

Alright...( -_-) I know it's bad...I'll never smoke more than 2 packs a week though, whenever I have too many in a day it messes with my throat so I keep it under a certain number anyway. Wait...that sounds like some old man's reason...I'm not that old yet...:faust:

When I was 16 I smoked for about three months. I'd smoke about a pack every week or two. I quit because I felt so sick. I was better in a two weeks. I'll never go back. Waste of money. I don't understand how some people smoke for years and haven't keeled over yet. Some people will live for 80 years smoking a pack a day. Some people aren't that lucky.

OK i have alot of experiences with this crap and most of these people have no idea what they are talking about. That being said 1-2 packs a week almost makes me think you just started but if that is really all you smoke u will be fine i garentee it. The people that have a problem are the ones that smoke 1-2 packs a day and have done it for 40 YEARS... so u will be fine just know that once you been smoking for a couple months you cant quit trust me its a fukking bitch but smoke some cannibis because it has been shown to reverse the process of tobacco products and i reccomend marlboro reds

I agree with you. It's apparent that some people are more susceptible to any disease based on genetics.
