We all know Orochimaru wants to master all ninjutsu right? What can help him do that....Rinnegan can!

In this scan Kabuto says him Orochimaru hypothesized that Sharingan evolves into Rinnegan.

This is why Orochimaru wants an Uchiha body instead of just taking a sharingan...so he can level up the Shairngan to Rinnegan, and the Rinnegan gives you all 5 chakra natures allowing you to master any jutsu.

Madara is the only one after the SO6P to awaken the Rinnegan and we still don't know how he actually awakened it.
