Well..minatos half of kurama really said "that was quite the touching speech your son just gave there...minato. enough to move even this half of me." So yea, he's talking about himself, not the kurama that's already in naruto.

Also, I don't know where you came up with minato's kurama having different abilities than naruto's...it's the same bijuu. They both have the same abilities, since, you know, they're the same being.

Yeah! But as we know Juubi was one being too but when divided into 9, The 9 had different powers.
So same way if Kurama is divided intwo there can be a possibility that it would have some other powers.

Debatible. The concept of Yin and Yang was already explained in the Creation of All Things chapters (Tobi vs Konan? Kage Summit? When Tobi was captured by Yamato/Kakashi/Naruto?).

Yang = Body, Instincts, Life, Physical Energy, Physical Based Ninjutsu [Wind, Water, Earth], Taijutsu => Younger Son

Yin = Mind, Knowledge, Imagination, Spiritual Energy, Energy Based Ninjutsu [Fire, Lightning], Genjutsu => Elder Son

Yang Kurama (Inside Naruto): Naruto can heal faster (life), Naruto's survival instincts are way more developed, Naruto's stamina is incredible high, KCM Naruto can awake (give life to) Mokuton from Earth + Water just like Hashirama (from the Younger Son's Branch), Past Yang Kurama was easily driven by emotions instead of logic, wanting to take over Naruto's Body, Naruto's elemental affinity is Wind, Hashirama's elemental affinity is earth and water.

Yin Kurama (Inside Minato): We don't know much about him, but he clearly saw that it was just revived along with Minato and Minato was already using KCM and was moved by Naruto speech, a clear sign of insight and intelligence.

This explains too why Naruto isn't that smart and why Naruto doesn't have affinity for Genjutsu based techniques... because the abilities to create things from nothingness (allucinations) belongs to the Yin branch.

Also Naruto had better sensing ability when in KCM.

Good point. Since perception is related to the Body ability to sense things, it is related to the Yang branch too (This could even give support to the Hyuuga Clan having Yang based techniques).

I will say that your theory is quite well thought out but there are still some inconstancies. If naruto doesn't have the yang half of kurama but instead "the fox spirit" is only yin and a bit yang, then why does yamato's wood style grow and become a tree when it is near naruto in KCM? The wood style overflows with life energy= yang chakra not Yin which is spiritual energy. I get the whole gedo statue is the yang and the biju are yin it makes sense, but i can't get over this fact. And why was the kyuubi split in two, yin yang makes the most sense if your going to split the chakra in half?

Excellent observation! Yamato's affect = Yang!
I think Minato's Yin Kuramam is because it had to travel with minato into other dimension! So it had to be in Yin form.
It all makes sense now.=D
