It was so much simpler when he was crazy and evil, and I didn't have to feel horrible for him! "Good" Itachi has so much more going on though; I've come to appreciate the complexity of his character.

Alot of people who may have forgotten how badass Itachi was when he was evil may say that the good Itachi is better. But personally even with how awesome the bad itachi is I still have to say that good itachi is better, all the selflessness and sacrifice, all the planning and contegency planning, the guy is just too strong. And he did it all with out a thank you.

I like the good Itachi better, he's basically the only good Uchiha in the clan (cept Shisui) it makes it feel he puts the world over clan, which is noble.

Itachi joined Akatsuki to make sure the organization (and Tobi) didn't turn their eyes on Konoha. He didn't really get much out of it, except perhaps keeping Sasuke safe by keeping Konoha safe. That has to count for something.
