It's viable. If what you say is true, it might be that the s06p wants to give equal help to both sides to see who is really deserving to change the future.

One can only guess what the next few chapters will be like, but again, if it's as you say Mandy might be a speed bump for Naruto.

I'm guess it wont actually turn out this way, even though it sounds reasonable.
