The curious about his path part is what concerns me. It's obvious Sasuke is another test subject he's experimenting on at the moment and is going to see how far it goes before he steps in there and ruins everything.

Orochimaru is a snake there's no way he's going to be good. He will probaly use the fact that all the villages wil be weakened after the war to continue his plans.

I find it hard to imagine Orochimaru as the ultimate evil. Sure he is the classic villain of Naruto and he had his time. It is just not now. The manga is heading towards the origin of jyuubi, uchiha and senju and an ultimate evil must appear who has tonnes of rage and hatred for mankind. Orochimaru simply doesn't have the motif of an ultimate evil who would want destruction of the entire world. His goal of unlocking the secrets of jutsu and personal experimentation simply isn't deep enough.

Either Madara would defeat the kages, I know this sounds ridiculous but I have my reasons, Or the jyuubi full transformation would be so epicly powerful, it would work as an equaliser. Maybe the jyuubi can cast infinite tsukiyomi on its own once it gets its own consciousness and it makes Naruto and Sasuke fight each other under a genjutsu.

I think he just relized being evil sucks..the only one close to him copyed his personality and his jutsu.if i were him i'd be lonely.

His goal was never to be evil per se..he just wanted to gain immortality and master all ninjutsu..somewhere along the way,he lost his sense of "good" and,well you know the rest.

Maybe after the war is over he can travel the world learning ninjutsu lol

I'm just going by what Orochimaru said after he joined Sasuke before they headed to Konoha. He still wanted his body but wasn't strong enough atm.

I don't doubt Naruto and Sasuke will face-off, it's been promised too long and Kishimoto won't let that many people down.

I'm wondering that myself. There is way more to this and I doubt the Hokages are going to win easily. They are powerful but the Juubi isn't perfected yet.
