Konan because she seems more powerful, but Tsunade is more experienced. Also, I think Konan was a bit like Nagato, she didn't like fighting. She did it because she had to. Tsunade is more practical imo, she seems to have accepted the fact that shinobi and kunoichi must fight and that's why she introduced the medic in the team, in order to improve the efficiency of the team and help protect asap those who were wounded.

Tsunade, not even a contest. Not just as a Ninja, but in terms of contribution and independence. Sakura should have been as well, if Kishimoto further developed her character after the first two arcs of Shippuden. None of the others even come close.

I don't think this is the right list, but from what i have seen in anime, this is accurate... Kushina, Mito, Kurenai MIGHT be added, if they ever show us what they can do. Oh and Tenten, Ino, Hinata, Karin and especially SAKURA are one of the weakest characters in the series, don't blame me, blame kishimoto(even though Hinata is a nice character).

Hate to say it, but it seems Kishi is a bit "sexist" when it comes to female characters (may not be intentional). they are too far and few. Ratio is like 9:1 lol.

There have been zero female antagonists in the entire span of the show (I know about Konan but she was just a side bender to the main Ferrari which is of course Pain and Itachi and Tobi and all them ;/). The main female protagonist hasn't really had a good, well rounded character development (except Hinata arguably, and she aint even the main).

But yeah, the show is lacking in the ol' female department.

Tsunade is the first who springs to mind. And then maybe Mei, but we don't know much about her other than the fact that she is Mizukage which gives her an automatic boost? lawl (she didn't do much of anything during the Madara fight).

Not really sure, Kushina, Chiyo and Konan are also up there for sure.

And also any female Jinchuriki get an automatic boost to the top. I think there's only one, the cat lady lol.

Mito sounds cool but we've seen absolutely nothing on her cept for the fact that she has the same sensing ability as Naruto.

So based purely on what we've seen I'd say:

1. Tsunade
2. Kushina (she can restrain the 9 tails in a near death state ;/)
3. Konan
4. Cat jinchuriki lady, Matatabi I think the beast's name is...
5. Mei
6. Chiyo

I am going with Tsunade with this one because she is a sannin and I love all of them lol. Yes am being bias but dont give a damn Tsunade is the most powerful female on the whole series.
