When Devil fruits are eaten the user is immediately aware of the power or powers it gives.

But in every case of DF's being explored or mastered to a higher degree or its Explored in depth we ALWAYS see a seconded power shown.

Brook - His power was useless until after death but its REAL power was using the soul and manipulating that green energy of the underworld

Law - His fruit is the surgeons fruit but its real power would be the granting of eternal life

Crocodile - his fruit is the suna suna no mi meaning he is a sand logia but unlike other logias he can use his hands to drain the liquid from anything almost like a bonus paramencia power

Teach - he has the darkness fruit and the darkness fruit can make darkness as he please but his bonus power is behaving like a black hole again you see a bonus almost paramencia power

I wouldn't really consider any of them to be extra powers to start with. They are just abilities they had to start with and learned how to use them.
It's like learning to ride a bike in a straight line. Then once you've got that, you learn how to steer. 2 different things, but still it's just "riding a bike".

I would consider a "second power" to be something like the Mangekyo sharingan where it gets completely new abilities and cant be accessed when the sharingan is first gained - those powers come later.

Only one I would consider a "second power" is Blackbeard. His absorbing ability gives him new powers.
But... I have a theory that the Darkness fruit wasn't the first fruit he's eaten. He's eaten some sort of "Chimera Fruit" that lets him use other fruits (hence why his pirate flag is 3 heads). If that was the case, then technically that is all down to the ability of his first fruit, and they wouldn't be second abilities either. BOOM!

Yea a second power isnt a new way to use your previous powers a Second power is something that can't be done with your pre-established set of powers.

Law's Fruit - It's power lies in its medical and anatomical manipulation. Granting eternal life falls under that power because it manipulates the body in whatever way it does, but obviously in some medical way.

Crocodile's Fruit - It's power lies in the properties of sand. Whatever sand can do, so can he. Sand that I'd dry enough can absorb water. It falls under that category.

Teach's Fruit - This is the only exception, though not for the reason you stated. This fruit actually has a different power of completely negating another's DF abilities and also assimilating new DF into his own power.

I don't quite agree with you. The longer one trains with his DF, the better and stronger he can use it. The people you mentioned had the "secondary power "you mentioned because they trained hard and discovered other ways to use their dfs. example luffys gear second and third

How does being able to manipulate sand make you able to drain the water out of living things with your right hand?

How does being able to be revived make you able to use your sword to freeze your enemies?

Gears is luffy being creative with being rubber.

Soul energy or Eternal life is something that could be put in its own power.

if what you're saying us even remotely true,then Why is it not in all dfs, it seems to me it's only in those dfs you mentioned also,if you didn't know,sand does absorb water,he's like pumping sand into ones body and absorbing the water,that's all.

How do you pump sand into stones and trees and somehow add sand into something but make luffy's bpdy decrease in size...

Maybe you just have to be really really in tune with your DF

Like Alch3my, I don't consider any of these "extra powers", but simply branches of one core power, aside from the Ope Ope no Mi.

Crocodile, being a Logia, will take up every characteristic of sand. Sand naturally absorbs water and dries things out. That's why sand in your eyes is such a *****.

Brook's fruit allows the user to fully control and become their soul. That's why Brook could go into his body and come back to life in the first place.

Teach's fruit has the power to pull things in, store them, and release them. It's just centered around the power of darkness to consume anything.
