I am referring to the absolute mess of an episode that was present in 167, as seen below.

"You're too slow!"

Been on a binge-watching as of lately with Shippuden(canon episodes) and I can't help but feel that this particular episode should or could do a re-animation, all things considered. Since it pales in comparison on what was seen in the manga adaption by Kishimoto.

Yeah...i thought many times about what if they re-animated the fight... With the same animation of obito VS kakashi fight... Would be epic

It's creative choice and liberty. I thought it fit. It was a way of literally showing how twisted Nagato became from the pain of loss and conflict.

No, I actually enjoyed the animation. I always saw it as unique. Although there were some moments when the others standing by weren't animated properly (Shikamaru, Hinata, and Sakura).

This episode irks me because they chose to do it like this and it turned out not bad but nowhere near as good as it should of been.
Also even if you think it's good you can't honestly say the art was on point I mean come on, those faces where horrible.

Too bad they took to much liberty, the filler in this fight made no sense like an ocean appearing out of nowhere.

Mmmm nah, I mostly liked it, just not the part where Pein punched the ground lols.

It wasn't filler. It was an extension to the fight, and actually, considering the Rinnegan masters all elements, deva pein is the core avatar pein and Yahiko was a water nature, it did make sense. The only parts that didn't were when the Kyuubi somehow summoned roots from the ground and breathed fire, which was the part Kishimoto himself hated, because Kurama is not supposed to have any elemental natures.

This. Exactly this. Thank you. Anime is art, not literal adaptations.

Nope not buying it the water came out of the the rocks pain lifted which looked stupid.
But everything pales in comparison to the wack a mole scene. Where did you hear kishi say he didn't like it??

Yes because fans of the series want to see what some random guy thinks would look good rather than actually seeing the fight the way it was intended.

Oh boo hoo. 30 seconds of filler fight weren't pristine enough for you. Go cry somewhere else.

It didn't come out of the rocks. It came out of the ground where water is stored lols.

The wacking part I could tolerate because it was fast paced and from a distance and I knew deva pein was a corpse that was just being controlled by gedo rods and that his body was likely heavily resilient being that he's the god realm pein as well as probably packed with some sort of preservatives.

I agree however, that due to all the backlash, the artist probably should have either been fired or not been allowed to do fight scenes again for a while until his style changed. And from what I recall, he never did anymore after this lols.

I don't think I ever seen this much damage control in my life.
I died a little inside when you said the wack a mole part was tolerable.

Lol spoken like people who don't buy the anime, it's a general consensus this episode was shit.
I wonder how many people would actually pay to research this episode.

Also don't buy it if you don't like it.
