I thought about dropping out until I realized I could still pursue what I wanted while staying in school. Not only that, but college provides so many tools and people that it's bound to help you rather than hurt you. Just go and either major in something that is similar to what you want (which can be awesome), or something that will provide you with a job to support your passion until your passion is what's making the money.

I dropped out of college because of the condescending nature of everyone around me, it wasn't a good atmosphere. It's this world renowned music school, and everyone was so douchey.

It's worked out for me, **** school. You aren't guaranteed anything in this life and college gives you the illusion that you are.

------->IMO<-------

But I've also seen it work out for a lot of people. Different strokes you know.

Why didn't you just transfer?

OT: Yes, I have, but no I did not go through with dropping out. The only reason that's keeping from dropping out is the fact that I already started and have loans to pay off.

I actually dropped out of college recently due to financial problems but I'm going back once I'm financially ready. Honestly though.. I wonder if spending all the time there is worth it. I wonder if I can get by just as fine without college.

Well the whole aspect kind of turned me off, I felt like I was paying a shit load of money to not really learn anything mind blowing. Then if I did graduate I'd have to pay even more money to pay back the money I borrowed. And now it's the standard to have a college degree, if everyone has one you aren't at really at any more of an advantage than others when looking for a job.

Plus everyone I've ever worked with went to college or had a degree in something. My first job was delivering lunches and every other driver there had degrees. One even had a masters in education but had to work two jobs to pay off his student loans. It just didn't seem like the route for me.
