I think after the VotE when Sasuke's calm returned, he zoomed past Itachi's level.

He was already beating him in jutsu and ability but his wits were dulled because of all what was on his mind, that was the only and the most important thing Itachi had the upper hand at but later it all changed massively.

I can go a bit far and say that Sasuke can take on 2 Itachi and win even.
