A light smile on my face every morning
A smile so warming that...

It shows that I have emotions bottled up inside
But on the surface you'll still see that bright smile, so wide
Using every ounce of strength to keep it in position
(exhales) Ive become proficient at it

A smile...

cause there ain't enough love on display
there ain't enough colors that can take these blues away
and when I can't chase it away I kneel down to pray...
...that this expression on my face will never change.
But its just a trick...
To mask the Pain, hate and anguish
Maybe if I let them out they'd give my face a language.
But I don't want to be like you, I want to be myself
Its selfish, but its sure my heart wont be left on a shelf

A smile...

I must make sure it's visible even in the darkest...
...Of rooms, For if It falls ill be a walking target
I'd like to show my scars, cause its not easy... Its hard
To keep a smile, hiding all the tears that flood my heart.
