Well yeah, Shadow clone for rasengan.

Other than that, shadow clone for nothing which will vanish in less than 5 seconds. Remember the battle between naruto and the bone guy?xd

In part two naruto has advanced to using shadow clones for intel, traning purposes (allowing him to grow like a sharingan) & to set up other attacks

Well Naruto may not be "smart" but he has battle experience above other characters of his age, and also using his shadow clones in battle so much made him battle smart without even realizing...
Just look at his fight with the edo raikage, i think that was the peak of his intelligence. First his tactic with the Rasenshuriken, and second all of his people, even those who knew him did not know his weakness, but Naruto managed to figure it out in the middle of the battle, yea he asked the eight tails for some info, but it was nothing relevant and also he was the one who came up with it in the first place.

If he does get FTG, he will take it to a whole other level, just like he did with everything learned so far... he will come up with a unique way of using it... a way no one would ever imagine, remember that he is the nr.1 most unpredictable ninja out there xd

True for the most part...but I wouldn't say he is battle smart as he is getting there. Also their are plenty of ninja his age that are better thinkers/battle experts but don't have all of naruto's op techs (Shino, Shikamaru, Neji...etc...and Sasuke but he has op techs). Because if you look at naruto fights he has to take damage to learn/come up with a plan, and that's not battle smart (imo)

Though the personality of Naruto is kinda goofy but he is truly a battle genius, as seen in the battle of pain he always thinks up to 3 fold steps to defeat any enemy also he has a great battle experience, imo Naruto may even use FTG better than his dad if he learns it, if not now one day he would surely surprass the 4th as done with the Rasengan.

Yea, i guess this is where our opinions are different, i consider someone to be battle smart the one who can come up with the plan during the fight, especially where you are fighting an opponent that can kill you easily, because you have to both keep your ground against him and think of a plan to defeat him... this being Naruto.
Yea Shikamaru is smarter, but he is better in a team, where he has someone to rely on to help him discover his opponent's weakness, and buy him some time to think, While Naruto is a 1man army...

he's tricked zabuza, those amekagure ninja, kiba, neji, sasuke,kabuto, deidara, kakuzu, pain several times, edo raikage. practically every ninja he's fought he's sprung some sort of surprise, except orochimaru. he may not be as clever as minato,itachi or shikamaru, but he's no fool in battle. there's no basis upon which you can say that he can't use a technique to it's fullest potential. knowing naruto he will even surpass minato with ftg

No I get all that and agree but the fact the he goes in without a plan most of the time and has to get beat to want to use a plan is his/my problem not that he is not smart enough to come up with a plan...hope that makes sense

Yea i get your point, and i agree that is his style, he goes in a fight without a clear strategy, but if you think about it, he doesn't really have time to develop one... i mean anyone without clear previous knowledge about his opponent will have to go in battle first and then come up with a plan... i don't really see how you can come up with a plan beforehand when you're fighting someone for the first time...

For example sm and km are very similar. Gives the user a power, speed and stregnth boost.
