My dear it was a lovely eve,
When you a verse did ask;
And now my greetings true receive,
As I perform the task
That eve you sat beside the gate,
Amongst enchanted flowers;
The sun conspired like cruel fate
To end the sweet White Ginger's hours
That eve the soothing air passed by,
And kissed the withered flower,
Bringing its fragrance sweet on high
