I never said it was the first. I said it took the concept of the mech genre that was already there and blew up. Did DBZ spawn anything? Masashi, Oda and Kubo are just really diehard fans. There's not one instance where they copied DBZ.

I've seen every anime episode, every manga chapter and alloff springs of dbz, and i have read countless comics going from the Golden Age to the 2000's. Kiddo, you have no "****ing idea" what you're talking about. It's not directly a rip off, however nothing about it was revolutionary, the fame it got maybe, but anything else, tshh. Marvel and DC aren't all Supes, Batman and Spiderman, that's just what the media and shit portrays them as with movies and TV shows.

And if you think DBZ is even remotely close to DC and Marvel in popularity (judging on your thread, you do), that's sad WAY beyond belief.

Whoa 9gag, so funny.. Like I said, that's what the public thinks marvel and DC are, but there are way too many cosmics to throw around.. They are the strongest fictional verses.

Second of all 85% of the people in that picture can destroy the entire verse on a cosmic scale, the ****ing LT is there LMAO. Obviously DBZ kills fodders like Peter Parker and captain america. Some people there are unkillable by anything Goku and Vegeta can do.

I don't see how you can "blow" something up that's already famous. Both G Gundam, and Mobile Suit Gundam Wing had already aired in the states years before Evangelion. When Mobile Suit Gundam Wing first aired on Toonami it was the second highest rated show on the network, with DBZ being the first. They even had a shit-ton of games on the Playstation.

As far as DBZ goes, I'm not even gonna bother trying to debate whether or not they inspired anything because it's obvious you're set in stone about the matter. But what I will say is that at the end of the day none of this, "Who inspired who" shit really matters so long as you find it entertaining. That's just my two cents, anyways.
