1.) He has a 4.5 rating in Ninjutsu in the second databook. Same as a certain Kakashi of the Sharingan, to which Genma does not have the luxury of having. Ergo, he's a very skilled, adaptable ninja. Let's also not forget he knows one of the most OP techniques in the NV: Hiraishin no Jutsu. "But he can't do alone, he needs Raido" I'm not so sure. Raido said they can't do it alone, however look at Raido's face.
He's obviously attracted to the Mizukage and was looking for a way to get close to her and came up with the excuse of a Group Hug FTG. Genma, being the wingman and br0 he is, obliged and downplayed his own superiority so Raido could get a shot. Conclusive evidence that Genma knows FTG and can perform it alone.
2.) He was the bodyguard to Minato Namikaze. Only the best of the best can garner such a prestigious position. On top of that, Genma is approximately the same age as Kakashi and Gai, only slightly older. That means Minato hand picked Genma over several notable shinobi to guard his life. AND teach him FTG. Facts are starting to pile up, yeah?
3.) It took the Sound 4 to gang up on Genma AND use their CS2 forms to stop him. Kidomaru even mentions how Genma would have thrashed them otherwise. And I'm willing to bet Genma even took it easy on them because he doesn't wanna beat up a fat kid, an emo kid, a nerd with a flute, and a kid with extra limbs. Genma has more class than to pick on children like that. A true gentlemen.
When shit hit the fan at the Chuunin Exams, who protected a terrified Sasuke and made Gaara insane with fear?
Who gave Sasuke his orders and told him to knuckle up? Genma. And Sasuke was a noted rebellious kid, getting the lowest scores in cooperation and what not at the Academy. Even he wouldn't dare test Konoha's Secret Weapon.
4.) Genma didn't have the luxury of being grouped into a love triangle. Put Genma in Kakashi's squad and the same stuff happens, except with more swagger. Obito would've given both Sharingan to Genma and that promise to protect Rin would needless. What's more, Rin wouldn't get kidnapped by the Period Bloodmist Village ANBU and had a turtle shoved inside her. Despite all these free eyes floating around, Genma is still snappin' necks in base.
5.) Genma is a front lines, in your face type of fighter. As posted earlier, he didn't hesitate to take on Baki (who slaughtered Hayate neg diff) and defend one of his comrade's pupils with his life. You think it a coincidence Tsuchikage kicked rocks when Genma showed up? No, the Almighty Toothpick Senbon of Doom solo's. He was on the front lines of every major battle for Konoha, kicking ass and taking names. And he's the perfect counter to any dojutsu user. Put any Uchiha, Hyuga, or Rinnegan wielder in this page and the same would happen.
It's nigh impossible to react to that. We're talking sound barrier speeds here, people.
BM shroud Genma would honestly give current Madara a run for his money. I'm not saying he's top 10 status, but he does indeed solo Akatsuki level and under, potentially even pushing prime Nagato and DSM Kabuto high diff.
