Boruto's base is pretty high despite not relying on anything else.

So when he does start relying on his other powers, more importantly when the Dojutsu becomes a main addition to his skill-set, he'll probably introduce a widespread of new eye-techniques that will have people idiotically overhyping him for a bit.

Will it mostly depend on the portrayal, but he's the MC so I don't expect anything less of writing hack.

She hasn't surpassed Konohamaru obviously. Who said she has? Cause I remember saying she will, not that she already has. And as for Boruto, I don't care about him. He's not why Sarada is bad-ass.

If you want to compare Boruto with anyone start with Mitsuki since he's very much part of Team Konohamaru. But oh wait, Mitsuki would take a big dump on Boruto.
