I don't see it's going to stop at the final phase, the rookies have never once encountered an akatsuki before during that time frame so I believe Fuu will be captured somewhere after chuunin exam are over.

The whole 2nd exam is a corny joke, the rookies just make friends with everyone that they find in the desert. And now that they already wasted 14 episodes on the 2nd phase, there is not enough time to do the next phase. So all 9 of them must pass for doing something else.

Final phase as 3rd or 4th??

I don't see it's going to stop at the final phase, the rookies have never once encountered an akatsuki before during that time frame so I believe Fuu will be captured somewhere after chuunin exam are over.

It is mostly the Sand Rebels attacking (in terms of numbers), not just Akatsuki.

I feel like a 3rd stage would be pointless cuz we already saw everyone fight. that's probably why Lee and Shira fought in the desert, because there isnt gonna be any official match ups.

I honestly want it wrapped up. The whole idea of the arc had potential but it wasnt executed well at all

Yea but I'm not talking about gaara, I mean the akatsuki will caputre Fuu right ? So if what you're saying is true regarding Gaara being targeted in that episode instead of Fuu it mean this arc is going to be much longer than I expected Not to mention don't forget about the future Pein summoning girl who will eventually die
